Alright, so here are some thoughts about my brand. I'm realizing that I'm really passionate about servant leadership, but I want to emphasize that it starts with being a servant. I picture me just holding a towel, like I did when I was the equipment manager for the Fayetteville High School football team. During games I would serve as the ball boy, and I had to carry a towel around to clean the footballs after each play. My position on the team was to contribute to winning games, not by my athleticism, but in logistics and an understanding of the game so that a dry football was where it needed to be at the right time. The coaches trusted me to serve in this way, and rewarded me with a varsity letter every year that I served.
So the purpose of this post is to communicate how I can help a company as a servant, behind the scenes, bringing people together and helping others succeed. So whether I am starting out on the bottom of the organizational chart or near the top, I place great value on maintaining a trusting relationship with my organization, and seeking to contribute to success that is bigger than what I could accomplish alone. My job is to serve first, and demonstrate leadership by serving.
